Bitcoin Comes back to Gigastrand

Despite the collapse of Mt. Gox and amid other Bitcoin concerns, Gigastrand brings Bitcoin back as a method of payment in their store.

Feb. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Amid all of the controversy around Bitcoin, Sioux Falls based Gigastrand International has brought back the controversial currency as a payment option in their store ( http://gigastrand.biz ).

In a short blog post Gigastrand announced the news yesterday.

"Gigastrand is accepting Bitcoin once again . After limited success with Mt. Gox tools (now seemingly demised) Gigastrand temporarily suspended Bitcoin transactions. Gigastrand has re-enabled Bitcoin transactions in the online store.

You can choose the Bitpay option in checkout. You may also use Paypal or credit card."

Last year, using tools from Mt. Gox, Gigastrand created a small store to help raise money for the Gigastrand OS ( http://gigastrandos.com ). However, there were several issues with the Mt. Gox exchange even then.

"It always felt like we were only about 75% complete with Mt. Gox." Gigastrand Founder, Josh Tordsen, explains. "We could never move money around efficiently because they always seemed overwhelmed. This made us think twice about getting in to Bitcoin so we pulled the store after only a few months."

While Gigastrand lost about $300 in the Mt. Gox collapse, they remain optimistic about the cryptocurrency itself. This optimism has fueled the reintroduction of Bitcoin as a payment option at Gigastrand.
