Follow on Google News | WEDU's Florida This Week to Host Final Debate in the U.S. Congressional District 13 RaceBy: WEDU PBS The candidates include: David Jolly, Republican; Alex Sink, Democrat and Lucas Overby, Libertarian. As part of a special Florida This Week, the candidates will participate in a 30-minute live to tape debate moderated by Florida This Week host, Rob Lorei this Friday, February 28th. The debate will be taped in the WEDU Studios at the Berkman Family Broadcast Center beginning at 4:00 p.m. and will air Friday night at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. The program will also be available to watch online at www.wedu.org. "This will be the last opportunity for viewer's in the district to see the candidates interact on the big issues for voters before the March 11th election," said Lorei. The candidates are running in the U.S. Congressional District 13 Special Election to fill the seat vacated by Congressman Bill Young, who died last fall. Congressman Young had served in Congress since 1971, and at the time of his death, he was the longest serving Republican member. The candidates previously participated in a debate hosted by the Tampa Bay Times, Bay News Nine and USF-St. Petersburg on February 3rd, and a community forum at the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater on February 25th hosted by the Chambers of Commerce in Pinellas County.
