Cristine Seeber Pop-Up Opera
- Feb. 21, 2014 - LOS ANGELES --
Cristine Seeber brought opera into several Los Angeles schools during February as part of her Pop-Up Opera tour. Students were treated to performances of music by Bizet, Puccini, Offenbach, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and others. The artists preceded and closed her performance with a discussion of opera and music in general. All students eagerly participated in this special musical exploration.
Cristine Seeber’s Pop-Up Opera may serve as a sort of sonic beautification of spaces, if you like, but it is also meant to draw attention to the power of music and music education. Seeber’s Pop-Up Opera tour is sponsored by MUSICSTAR®, a leading provider of after-school music education in California. MUSICSTAR® (musicstarlearning.com)
provides musical instruments and instructional staff and runs turn-key music programs at public schools.
Soprano Cristine Seeber has toured internationally in revue shows of “The Phantom of the Opera”, “Les Miserables”, “Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat”, “West Side Story”, “Miss Saigon”, and others. Her voice appears in the Sony blockbuster film “Spiderman”
, and other movies. She recently sang with producer David Foster, who has produced such artists as Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Buble, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Josh Groban, and many more. She shared the stage in a recent concert performance with pop star Nelly Furtado.
