Udall Shumway Attorney Kimberly Davis Appointed to MCBA Young Lawyers Division Board of Directors

MESA, Ariz. - Feb. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Education Law Attorney Kimberly R. Davis has been appointed to a 3 year term on the Maricopa County Bar Association (“MCBA”) Young Lawyers Division Board of Directors.

The mission of the MCBA Young Lawyer Division is to involve young and new lawyers in serving the community and enriching the profession while focusing on the specific needs of young and new lawyers. It also provides great opportunities for members to connect, both professionally and socially.   Membership in the Young Lawyers Division is automatic and free of charge for all members 36 years of age or younger, or who have been in practice for five years or less (whichever occurs last).

Kimberly Davis is a member of Udall Shumway’s School Law section, representing and advising charter schools and school districts throughout the state.  In her practice, Ms. Davis provides daily advice and assistance to school districts, charter schools, and other public educational institutions on a broad range of matters including, but not limited to, disability law matters, such as special education due process hearings, Office of Civil Rights (“OCR”) complaints, and special education state complaints; student discipline; personnel issues; Governing Board liability; open meeting laws; public records issues; and employment law matters.

Ms. Davis is admitted to the State Bar of Arizona and is actively involved in a number of organizations including the American Bar Association – Young Lawyers Division; the Arizona Council of School Attorneys; the Arizona School Boards Association; the Arizona Women Lawyers Association; and the National School Boards Association.
