By: Dream City University According to BullyingStatistics.org one in four kids in the U.S. are bullied on a regular basis. As a result, October has been recognized as National Bullying Prevention Month and this year Oct. 8 as National Stop Bulling Day. However, others have also supported this cause on Feb. 9, though it seems to go heavily unnoticed every year. Dream City University feels that this problem is significant enough to be commemorated nationally, twice a year. “Bullying happens everywhere, it’s an epidemic. We care about kids having bright futures and making their dreams come true and they can only do that if they are confident. We want to shed light on this issue as well as the risks” said M’Jestie Brooks, CEO of Dream City University. The video entitled “Don’t Go” illustrates three scenarios in which two teens and one adult suffer from common social, physical and psychological issues between home, work and school. Further statistical research from the Yale School of Medicine reports that there is also a strong correlation between bullying and suicide. As both behaviors occur at alarming rates, Dream City University decided to take action in an effort to encourage the conversation on these issues in hopes of saving a life. “Life is worth living and unfortunately, sometimes people can feel that it’s not. You never know where someone is in their thought process. I hope that this video wakes people up to start being a part of others’ solution,” said Brooks. The single, “Don’t Go” by Arjay has gained over 40,000 views since its debut in November 2012. Watch the video at www.dreamcityuniversity.com.
