The stages of the Apollo, Hudson, Town Hall and Bitter End will each carry over 20 pieces of Shannon’s original Beatles paintings on large framed banners with a center image based on the official poster that Shannon designed especially for the 50th Anniversary. The poster has been getting raves as the best image, by far, to depict the celebration and the umbrella of events happening in the NYC and around the USA.
The NYC Fab 50 events weekend include:
Thursday, Feb. 6th - “Twist & Shout: New York Celebrates The Beatles” at the Apollo Theater with Dionne Warwick, Lulu, Mary Wilson and others.
Friday, Feb. 7th - “Across The Universe” Beatles Music Festival at the Hudson Theatre with The Spin Doctors and others.
Saturday, Feb. 8th - “America Celebrates the Beatles, All-Star Concert” at Town Hall with over 25 performers including Tommy James, Al Jardine and Melissa Manchester.
Sunday, Feb. 9th - “Across The Universe” Beatles Music Festival at the Bitter End with Hal Bruce and 6 more bands.
Shannon will be surrounded by her art when she takes the stage with her guitar in hand with Tommy James, Marshal Crenshaw and others at the Town Hall on Saturday.
Shannon will be in attendance at the events on February 6-8 and will cap off the weekend celebration with a private event on Sunday the 9th at the Hard Rock Café New York. The Hard Rock event will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show. Shannon will be joined by Julia Baird - John Lennon's sister, The Cavern Beatles, Bill Heckle - owner of The Cavern and key figures from the city of Liverpool.
All events will have prints of Shannon’s BEATLES NYC 50th ANNIVERSARY poster available for purchase. Those not attending the events can order prints at: http://www.theshannongallery.com/
