Cumulus Data uses Amazon Web Services to bring exclusive collection capabilities to eCloudCollect™

New capability enables customers to perform ESI collections directly from their data on the Amazon Web Services cloud, and employ sophisticated culling using the computing power of Amazon CloudSearch.

CHICAGO - Feb. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Cumulus Data Inc., the creator of eCloudCollect™, a cloud-based forensic collection and preservation tool, today announced that its platform now has two new features; the ability to perform AWS collections on a customer’s own AWS account and the use of Amazon CloudSearch on their platform to perform post-collection culling and filtering, thereby reducing data while saving significant cost.

Customers now have the unique ability to forensically collect from their own AWS account, including Amazon EC2 and Amazon S3, instantly and affordably, without the need to stand up any infrastructure. This new source is in addition to collecting from remote computers, servers, networks and email sources that Cumulus Data is known for.

“While organizations of all sizes are embracing the cloud to gain efficiency and cost savings, we saw the need to provide more even more affordable solutions to preserve and collect from the cloud, and as an AWS Partner Network (APN) Technology Partner, we felt that this would be a great fit for our clients,” stated Sarah Thompson, Vice President of Product Management.

Employing Amazon CloudSearch in eCloudCollect enables Cumulus Data to harness the unlimited processing power of the cloud to provide their clients with reduced data sets more quickly and affordably. Customers can now cull and filter their data by date range, keyword, and file type across multiple collections and custodians.

“Cumulus Data can now let AWS users identify, control and reduce the amount of potentially responsive information through an easy-to-use, web-accessible, collaborative platform, securely and defensibly.  We are also the only tool that can collect data from computers, both to the cloud and to media, providing clients with unique flexibility and speed.  If your organization is global, so is Cumulus.  Our remote collection technology expands your reach to anywhere in the world, saving immense time and cost,” said Greg Estes, CEO of Cumulus Data.

In celebration of these new features, Cumulus is offering a limited promotion to AWS customers that will allow them to perform unlimited ESI collections of any type (email, computer or AWS) at no cost for 30 days.

The Cumulus Data team will be attending this year’s LegalTech conference from February 4 -6 at the Hilton New York in booth #1618.
