By: American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) The CIH exam is challenging for many and the preparation can be time consuming, but the rewards are also great. Professionals who have earned the CIH have proven that they have met all the requirements for education and experience, and through examination, have demonstrated knowledge and skills in the broad scope of industrial hygiene practice. Historically, during most exam periods, less than half the Examinees pass the exam. To help Examinees prepare for the exam, ABIH has made a number of important resources available on their website. They include the following: CIH Job Analysis Rubric Definitions Equation Sheet Calculator Information Sample Exam Questions Exam FAQs “Examinees who are thoroughly prepared and know what to expect are much more likely to pass the CIH exam,” said Lynn O’Donnell, CIH, Executive Director for the American Board of Industrial Hygiene. “We encourage people to take advantage of these resources. In addition, both AIHA and ACGIH list recommended publications for studying for the exam and there is a link to these on the ABIH website.” To access any of these resources, please visit: http://abih.org/ Each year, the CIH exam is offered during a two month period during the spring and fall.
