R&B Jazz/Latin Group DW3 Performs at Global RCD Benefit Concert for San Bernardino Boys & Girls Club

Global Restoration Community Development, Inc. (GLOBAL RCD 501c3), produces a benefit concert featuring DW3 April 15th, 2014 at the beautiful Victoria Gardens Cultural Center located at 12505 Cultural Center Drive in the City of Rancho Cucamonga.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - Jan. 31, 2014 - PRLog -- The purpose is to raise funds for the homeless and to organizations that assist in providing shelter to the homeless.  Global RCD’s specific purpose is to provide temporary and emergency financial services to assist people during the economic crisis by providing shelter, housing and other resources for transitional aged youth, homeless, adults and those with mental disabilities.  In addition, Global RCD provides shelter and emergency bed services to Transitional Age Youth (TAY) individuals between the ages of 16-25.

“Proceeds of this event will benefit of the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Bernardino and surrounding communities,” states Global RCD’s Founder Duane Phillips.  “There is so much need in our communities and we have chosen the Boys and Girls Club in San Bernardino to assist in targeting specifically those that will receive assistance in the communities they service.”

Under the direction of Mr. A. Majadi (San Bernardino) the mission of the Boys and Girls Club is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.

“The goals and mission of Global RCD are in the same lane of the goals and mission of the S.B. Boys and Girls Club; to reach and empower specific targeted youth in the surrounding communities we service and I am extremely honored that we were chosen to participate as recipients of this wonderful charity concert!” states Majadi.

The Global RCD Benefit Concert will provide Urban R&B, Jazz and Latin entertainment for all those that attend.  DW3 is one of the most enthusiastic, smooth and new sounding bands from the Los Angeles area. Composed of Eric, William & Damon, the 3 harmonious voices will bring high energy R&B Jazz and Latin Soul band to life.  Widely known for their outstanding vocal abilities, DW3 is comprised of L.A.’s finest musicians who consist of Keyboards, Percussion, Drums, Bass and Guitar.

Hosting the Global RCD Benefit Concert featuring DW3 is Actor Alfonso Rene Freeman, Sr.  Alfonso has appeared in such films as The Shawshank Redemption, Seven, Nurse Betty, Ten 'til Noon and The Bucket List.

In addition, world renowned artist, story teller and community activist Talona Shalay (a frequent collaborator with Global RCD will have various art pieces on display as she delivers her legendary tale of “Rags”.

DW3’s third and current CD “On The Floor” produced by 2 time Grammy award winning Paul Brown, has place them on Billboards Contemporary Jazz Charts reaching #16 in 2011 with their hit song “I got you” featuring Gerald Albright.  It also placed #1 on the UK Soul Charts and has been aired throughout Europe, Canada, Japan and Brazil.

Recently they’ve had the pleasure of recording on Dave Koz’s new CD featuring Michael McDonald, Jeffery Osborne, Mindi Abair and many others was released in the summer of 2013 which included many special guest artists, producers and song writers and will capture your attention with urban melodic grooves and a refreshing vibe.  This Album promises to keep alive the tradition of R&B along with the classic sounds of Jazz and Soul.

ABOUT ALFONSO FREEMAN
Freeman was born in Los Angeles, California, is the son of actor Morgan Freeman and Loletha Adkins.  He attended the Marion Anderson Elementary School, Ralph J. Bunche and Benjamin O. Davis Jr. High Schools and Compton High School, from which he graduated in 1977. He briefly attended California State University, Long Beach as an art major.

The son of acclaimed actor Morgan Freeman, Alfonso Freeman used his imposing presence to great effect in character roles. He took his first onscreen bows in the mid-'90s, gracing the casts of many productions that starred his father, including “The Shawshank Redemption” “Seven” “Nurse Betty” and “The Bucket List”. Making light of this, he voiced a lead character, Fred Redding, in the short parody “The SharkTank Redemption”. Alfonso also appeared in such films as “Burn and Lord Help Us”, as well as taking on guest roles on such popular TV series as “The West Wing, ER” and “The Practice”. In addition to his onscreen work, Freeman is an accomplished stage actor and gospel singer. Freeman appeared again, in a parody of the “Shawshank Redemption” during “Robot Chicken series 4”, in which he recounts the story as if it were set in the Batman universe of Arkham Jail.
