NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Jan. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- The E-Book promoted in this project is "How They Stopped Hitler's Nuclear Weapons Program" already published on Amazon Kindle.

When nuclear fission was discovered by German scientists in 1938, it was immediately brought to Hitler’s attention, and top Nazi strategists stressed the potential for the development of atom bombs.

As soon as World War II began in September 1939, nuclear development was taken over by the German Army Ordnance Office. The most powerful and influential physicists and weapons experts were involved in what was informally known as the “Uranium Club.”  By 1941 they already patented the design for a plutonium bomb.

Occultism in many forms flourished in Nazi Germany and there was some belief that Hitler was influenced by it. British Intelligence also informed Churchill that all astrologers close to Hitler advised him against the invasion of England in 1940. In reality German Luftwaffe lost so many planes and pilots during the Battle of Britain that Hitler abandoned Operation Sea Lion altogether.

This suggested a possible operation to influence Hitler to terminate nuclear weapons development by creating a Babylonian Guru who would predict how Nazi Germany will fare with different weapons programs. The Guru would operate in Iraq where a revolt against the British was taking place. He would also suggest that Hitler will survive any assassination attempt as long as he concentrates on his divine mission to eliminate Jews from Europe and Arab lands.

Originally the author planned to use the character of Sherlock Holmes as the mastermind transported by submarine to the Middle East where he impersonated a Babylonian Guru in Iraq.

In fact a major reason to abandon the idea to use Sherlock Holmes surfaced when the author visited a naval museum exhibit in Mobile, Alabama, which included a tour of an old submarine. It became clear to the author that Sherlock Holmes would have been an old man in his eighties in 1940 and in no condition to handle the bulkheads inside a submarine. Hence the invention of Patrick Denholm, who is a completely fictional character, but much more appropriate for the role.

The invention of the diaries kept by the protagonist supposedly describing the highly secret mission is of course pure fiction. These never existed except in the author’s imagination. However the reunion of schoolmates to climb Schiehallion did take place.

References to historical events are real but the existence of any person acting as described in those places during those times is purely fictional. Any resemblance of characters appearing in the story to actual persons, living or in heaven, is pure coincidence.
