PALM COAST, Fla. - Jan. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Sunday, February 16th marks the return of Flagler Fine Art Festivals, the only monthly Central Florida fine art festival series, now in its second year. In addition to juried fine art from Florida artists, performing arts, artist demonstrations and children's activities, the series begins with not one, but two contests--open to all Florida artists.

The 2014 POSTER CONTEST is accepting entries until midnight, January 30th, full rules and details on http://www.FlaglerFineArtFest.com. Winning artist receives a cash award, as well as a free full-season booth space at the festival and featured full-season artist privileges. Total prize package valued at over $750.

The kickoff of the season arrives with the First Annual ASSEMBLAGE ART CHALLENGE to raise awareness for Coastal Cleanup. To be held at the opening festival on February 16th, this exciting new "art sporting event" will challenge entrants to create a piece of assemblage art on-site in less than 5 hours, utilizing 5 elements recovered from local beaches during the last Coastal Cleanup. The catch? Artists will not be able to see which items they will be using in their works in advance--a true timed test of creativity for an important cause. Entries will be judged immediately after 3pm by artists JJ Graham and Harry Messersmith, and the winner will receive their cash award of $500 by the end of the festival. Official rules and entry form may be found on http://www.FlaglerFineArtFest.com, as well as Challenge artist profiles and some of the items that will be used in the challenge.

The festivals have extended their EARLY BOOKING DISCOUNT until the end of January, in order to present the best possible variety of exceptional fine art. Artists may apply to become a festival artist by filling out a simple entry form and uploading 5-7 images of their work, and there is no application fee. Art galleries and arts organizations are also encouraged to apply to raise awareness about upcoming shows, new works and classes. Full spring session dates are February 16th, March 16th, April 27th (4th Sunday due to Easter), May 18th, and June 15th.

Art appreciators join the festivals' Patrons' Club for exclusive offers. Volunteers, business sponsors and prize sponsors are also welcome and encouraged to contact the festivals via the website or by phone at (386)986-9567. The Flagler Fine Art Festivals also offer performing artists and cultural organizations an excellent venue to promote their work and other upcoming events.
