SeatGeek Acquires FanSnap.com; Acquisition Combines the Two Largest Ticket Search Engines on the Web

NEW YORK - Dec. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- December 19, 2013 (New York, NY) - SeatGeek, the leading ticket search engine, today announced that they have acquired the assets of Fansnap.com from leading e-commerce company Wize Commerce.

Founded in 2007, FanSnap.com aggregates event ticket options from scores of providers to offer consumers a broad range of ticketing options for live events in North America. Through partnerships with leading publishers, including Shazam and Philly.com, FanSnap.com is used by millions of sports and concert fans.

As part of the integration, existing FanSnap.com users will be redirected to SeatGeek’s award winning ticket search technology and be able to access a robust mobile ticket search experience through SeatGeek’s existing suite of phone and tablet applications for iOS and Android. Consumers who have accessed FanSnap.com through publisher portals will now be able to access corresponding ticket search pages on SeatGeek through the same links as before.

Wize Commerce sold FanSnap.com so they can focus on the core of their business: creating the best comparison shopping experience for consumers online.  FanSnap has been a successful part of the Wize Commerce family, but this move will allow them to invest even more resources into where they believe the future of this company lies: its innovative suite of comparison shopping sites like Price Machine, Wize, and ApplianceShopping.com, which are achieving steady growth and attracting new shoppers every day.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
