BPRS-NY Collects and Donates 250+ Food Items to Hip Hop Has Heart Foundation

NEW YORK - Dec. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- The Black Public Relations Society of New York’s (BPRS-NY) Holiday Mixer and Charity Food Drive co-hosted by AKOO Clothing Co. collected more than 250 non-perishable items for tonight's HOT 97 Hip Hop Has Heart Foundation holiday feast, “Lift ‘Em Up.”

The multicultural public relations and communications network, BPRS-NY, collected items via donations from members and guests. This is the organization’s first charity food drive.

The donated items will be delivered to the Hip Hop Has Heart Foundation, then prepared and served to needy families in the New York Tri-State area during a holiday feast this evening.

Representatives from AKOO Clothing Co., rapper Twista, and singer, songwriter and producer, Sebastian Mikael, showed their support for the cause to provide much needed food to hungry families this holiday season.

"We are so thankful for the generosity of our members who joined us to make a difference in the lives of New York families. With more than 1 million New Yorkers living in households where families fear starvation, we knew that it was important for us to partner with the Hip Hop Has Heart Foundation in order to make an impact in our community,” said Kisha Barton, president of BPRS-NY.

Sebastian Mikael said, "I had a great time collaborating with AKOO and BPRS-NY to collect cans for the needy. This was my first time participating in a can drive. It’s always a good thing when you can see people get together for a good cause."
