Planet Ballroom hosts "Dancing for Dollars" fundraiser to help Ronald McDonald House!

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Dec. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Every year, in an effort to give back to their community, Planet Ballroom dance studios of Charlotte, North Carolina come together to raise money for a local charity. The Planet Ballroom company has three Charlotte area ballroom dance studios with 15 professional dance teachers, all of whom will be donating their time with the goal of raising over $5,000 in one day, December 16th, 2013.

Dancing for Dollars was created by Planet Ballroom owners Thomas and Elizabeth Malvasia to offer a way for their dance teachers and dance students to participate together for a common purpose. The team of 15 professional dancers chose the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte as their charity for this year.

On December 16th, 2013, Planet Ballroom teachers will teach their normal full day of Tango, Cha Cha, Waltz, Salsa and Swing dance lessons! The difference on this special day will be that each ballroom dance student will bring in money for their dance lesson which will be donated to RMH. The teachers donate their time and 100% of the money raised goes to the charity. "We're pretty confident that we can hit our goal of $5,000," says Planet Ballroom studio manager, Bradley Davenport,"I'd actually like to be able to get way past that!"

In the past, Planet Ballroom has raised money for other Charlotte charities, such as Thompson Children's Home. The company has a strong commitment to giving back to their community. "It's a great way for our professional team to work together for others," says Planet Ballroom spokesmodel, Elizabeth Malvasia,"Dancing for Dollars is always a big success and we're glad to be able to support Charlotte charities, especially during the holiday season." The teachers and dance studio managers enjoy the experience as well and look forward to a fun day of Dancing for Dollars for the families that Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte helps!
