Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation Kicks off Fundraising Campaign

By: Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation

Nov. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- The Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation (ERAF) is under pressure to acquire a permanent sanctuary for the abused, abandoned and neglected horses that are currently living at the Caring Fields Animal Sanctuary in Palm City. The property is owned by the Pegasus Foundation but will be sold and their mandate is to move by November 2014. Board members and supporters gathered at the home of Denise LeClair-Robbins on November 15 to announce the kickoff of the Hoofprints Capital Campaign whose goal is to raise more than $500,000.

ERAF is the only shelter in the immediate south Florida area for horses whose owners can no longer feed and care for them properly and are willing to surrender them. The non-profit organization receives no government assistance and is dependent on grants and private donations to care for the 16 animals currently being served.  Guests heard from board president Randy Kinder and board members Marilynn Vannucci and Elaine Hines about new education and volunteer initiatives to strengthen their mission to rescue, rehabilitate and re-educate and find adoptive owners for the horses. For more information and to support their cause, please visit their website at www.eraf.org, by email at eraf2000@eraf.org or  phone Randy Kinder at 561-358-0625.
