Cancer Support Community of MA South Shore to Present a Legacy Writing Workshop

NORWELL, Mass. - Nov. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- The Cancer Support Community of Massachusetts South Shore (CSC-MSS), a non-profit organization offering support services to people diagnosed with cancer and their families, will present a Legacy Writing Workshop for individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer beginning on Thursday, November 21 from 11 am to 1 pm at 120 Longwater Drive in Norwell.

There will be three 2 hour workshop sessions and due to the nature of the workshop, with one session building on another, it is recommended that people commit to attending all three sessions. The second session will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5 and the third on Dec. 12, both from 11 am to 1 pm. Space is limited and pre-registration is required, please call 781-610-1490.

The workshop will be facilitated by Claire Willis, LICSW, an experienced cancer support group facilitator and author of the recently published book Lasting Words which chronicles her many years of facilitating writing groups for people who have a cancer diagnosis.

“Our needs to be remembered, to be known, and to express our values and love are universal. Many of us have prepared legal wills for distribution of our belongings, but what about leaving a record of who we are for our loved ones,” said Willis. “Through various exercises, we will explore our history, find ways to provide deeper meaning and purpose to our daily life and pass on our stories and values to those we love and future generations.”
