Follow on Google News | A Very Merry Read for the Whole FamilySanta’s got a plan up his sleeve and it’s not going unnoticed. In Santa’s Delight by Marisa Laycock dutiful heroes of the world are in for a surprise...
It’s the night before Christmas Eve and Mr and Mrs Santa are preparing for the busiest time of the year. This year Santa has been thinking about the service men and women who help us in times of need. He wants to somehow thank them for all the work they do. Santa has a little plan up his sleeve. On the night before Christmas Eve, he decides to take action and surprise all of those on duty by spreading a little festive cheer in their direction – but what will Father Christmas’s secret surprise be? Could it be a beautifully wrapped gift or possibly some tantilising festive pudding? Santa’s Delight is a heart-warming festive fable that recalls the true meaning of Christmas – a time of year synonymous with family. Although families are finding themselves increasingly spread out across the globe, at Christmas they come together again and celebrate. Leading with this touching theme, Marisa Laycock emphasizes the plight of public service personnel whose selfless work prevents them from spending Christmas with their loved ones. Laycock wishes to pay tribute to all the servicemen and women who risk their lives in the defense of others at a time of year when their sacrifice is most keenly felt at home. The result is a moving tale that will delight and educate children in equal measure. “Like many people, Christmas is my favourite time of the year. I love that warm feeling inside of generosity and hopeful anticipation. It’s a busy time when families come together to celebrate,” says Marisa Laycock Marisa Laycock was born and grew up in south-west London to Italian parents and has a brother and a sister. After graduating from the university of Westminster with a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages and Literatures, she obtained a postgraduate diploma in literature and postmodernism at the London Metropolitan University, then trained as a Montessori teacher. She currently divides her time between teaching and writing and lives in Hertfordshire with her husband and daughter. PUBLICATION DATE 11th November 2013 eISBN: 9781783067398 Price: End
