Carl "Buzz" Olson sales of Patriot Wines by donating a portion to non-profit veteran support organizations" "We have an opportunity on Veteran's Day to show how important the service of our men and women is to us by sharing a sampling of our Patriot Wines with them with our compliments" Patriot Wines are available to be personalized by adding a picture of a veteran (living or deceased) along with his or her name, rank, years of service or other service data. In this way, the Olsons are pleased to be able to provide further opportunities for family and friends to honor the veterans in their lives. Background Buzz & Kimberly Olson started their adventure in the wine business in 2003 by acquiring producing vineyards. In 2008, they opened a tasting room for Tesoro Winery in Old Town Temecula's bustling retail & restaurant district on Front Street. Tesoro Winery prides itself on great wines, friendly & knowledgeable hospitality and beautiful ambiance. In 2013, on the winery's 5th anniversary, Buzz developed a plan whereby Tesoro could give back to our country's veterans through the sales of Patriot Wines by donating a portion of the sales to non-profit veteran support organizations. In addition, they also offer personalized labels where a picture may be added of a veteran (living or deceased) along with his or her name, rank, years of service or other service data. In 1966, Buzz entered the Army through the Vietnam War draft board, and completed basic and advanced infantry training at Ft. Hood, Texas. He applied for and was admitted to Officer Candidate School and graduated as a Second Lieutenant in mid-1967. In his 32 year career, he served in many capacities in both active duty and reserve component assignments. He was selected to command twice at the company level, once at the battalion level and culminated his career as a Colonel and Commandant of the US Army School in southern California, providing military education to active, National Guard and Army Reserve soldiers, as well as military officers of all branches. "Buzz" retired in 1998. End
