LOS ANGELES - Nov. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- SHOOTING IN LAX KILLS OPPORTUNITY FOR “DOONBY” & “DRAGON DAY” STAR JENN GOTZON TO INSPIRE STUDENTS IN NEW ORLEANS WHILE STRANDED AT A CLOSED LAX AIRPORT

A shooting at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) left thousands stranded Friday, including recent Film Advisory Board awarded actress Jenn Gotzon, on her way to her first double film premiere.

At 9:30 am, Friday, a gun man entered one of the terminals and started shooting his way past a TSA security checkpoint. Eerily unfolding much like the events of “Dragon Day,” the incident forced the closing of the third busiest airport in the country, disrupting almost 700 flights, including Gotzon’s trip to New Orleans for the opening night of her acclaimed film “Doonby.” Jenn had been waiting more than 3 years for the occasion, which was scheduled to be followed by a live Q&A with high school students impacted by Hurricane Katrina, on how their life can make a difference, despite and often because of obstacles they’ve had to overcome.

Jenn recounts her frustration at the unexpected delay: “Literally 24 hours ago, we were on shuttle from short term parking 15min after shooting happened and were ushered onto street on Sepulveda. I was flying to New Orleans for Doonby opening premiere which I arranged all students to discuss film afterwards about life impacting message... My heart was to speak into these students’ lives after the 715 & 955 showings.”

The delays and closing of LAX also forced Gotzon to miss her connecting flight and interrupted a FaceTime session with a local San Diego radio station, KSDW. The station was at the San Diego opening of the film, ready to connect Jenn with moviegoers to discuss the “big values of the movie to impact lives about their value and significance!” Members of that audience included students from Actors, Models & Talent for Christ (AMTC), who Jenn has been mentoring.

Jenn just landed in New Orleans a few minutes ago, Jenn recounts her frustrations and sends out her heartfelt apologies: “I'm heartbroken...to have missed everything after waiting 3 years for this very special moment -- two movies opening night Nov 1. It's even more upsetting I missed precious moments with those students who traveled 4 hours away, like Michael Warren from Mississippi, to discuss movie last night or Lindsey Davies, who was at the San Diego opening.”

It is Jenn’s sincere desire that the students will see this as just one more obstacle, albeit an unexpected one, to overcome and continue to pursue their dreams as she pursues her calling to inspire them.
