BOCA RATON, Fla. - Oct. 31, 2013 - PRLog -- “During National Family Caregivers Month, we recognize and thank the humble heroes who do so much to keep our families and communities strong” (Presidential Proclamation, 2012).

The first presidential proclamation was signed in 1997 and every president since has issued an annual proclamation honoring family caregivers.

Child caregivers have never been excluded in these proclamations; HOWEVER, they have never been specified as the very special population they are -- numbering more than 10,000 in Palm Beach County alone and over 1 million nationally. Today’s caregiving youth are missing childhood, sacrificing their academic success and take on “parenting” responsibilities long before they should.  Yet, with recognition and support services in school, out of school and at home, their lives turnaround.

That’s why national, regional and local celebs are stepping up to the plate in support of  child caregivers in Palm Beach County by donating their time at Oceans 234 in Deerfield Beach on November 6th .  From 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, they will be Celebrity Bartenders working for tips on behalf of the American Association of Caregiving Youth (AACY), a Boca Raton-based non-profit organization!

Among the men who be taking on bartending honors are:
Dick Stockton – American play by play sportscaster
Kevin Kaminiski – editor of Boca Magazine & Pres., FL Magazine Assoc.
Gary Barg – Today’s Caregiver magazine, caregiver.com & the Fearless Caregiver Conf.

And, they won’t be alone!  Several additional “surprise” celebrity bartenders are scheduled to be on hand to share the honors and mix a few!  Plus, there’s a trivia game, Chinese Auction and a 20% discount on food.   Drink tickets are $8.  For more information call Gerry at 561.391.7401.

About the American Association of Caregiving Youth®

The American Association of Caregiving Youth (AACY) is a Florida based 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that began serving the greater Boca Raton community in 1998. Today it is the only organization of its kind in the United States for addressing the issues surrounding the silent, vulnerable and hidden population, conservatively estimated to exceed 1.3 million children ages 8-18 years who provide care for ill, injured, elderly or disabled family members.  In partnership with schools, it prioritizes students in greatest need of services and increases their ability to remain in school through counseling, education, activities and respite while strengthening families by linking them with community services. To donate to AACY, volunteer or for more information go to www.aacy.org, email info@aacy.org or call Dr. Connie Siskowski (recently named 2012 CNN Top Ten Hero), at 561-391-7401.
