Bridgeport Village Announces 2013 Holiday Events Schedule

PORTLAND, Ore. - Oct. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- Bridgeport Village, Portland’s premier shopping and dining destination, has released its 2013 holiday events schedule.  The season will kick off on November 18th with the arrival of a locally grown 40-foot Christmas tree from Washougal, Washington with the tree illuminated on November 29th  at the popular “Light up the Night” event and concert.

Other highlights include;  the return of the popular Ducks vs. Beavers pep rally event on November 27th ,  a solar-powered Bridgeport Express train, an impressive array of live trees, garland and holiday décor and of course, Santa, in his house sponsored by the Professional Remodelers Organization.  This year will also feature “25 days of Joy” leading up to Christmas with various events and activities each day.

Ducks vs. Beavers Pep Rally

Duck and Beaver fans are invited to join cheerleaders and dancers from the University of Oregon and Oregon State University to start cheering for their favorite team in anticipation of the big game. Bridgeport Village will host the ultimate pep rally with activities and contests for the entire family including photo opportunities with Benny the Beaver and Puddles the Duck, live music, face painting and great prizes.  Additionally, there will also be a raffle to win tickets to the Civil War game on Saturday.

The Beatniks Holiday Concert and “Light up the Night” Tree Lighting

Bridgeport Village will host local band, The Beatniks, for the annual Light up the Night holiday concert under the gazebo in center court. During intermission at 7pm, Santa will arrive aboard the Bridgeport Express Train to light the live, locally grown 40 foot Holiday Tree and will be available for photos in his new house, built by the Home Builders Association Professional Remodelers Organization. Guests can also enjoy the inaugural Holiday Magic Light Show in center court, including music, lights and snow.

All aboard the Bridgeport Express

Holiday shoppers will be invited to climb aboard the 35-passenger, solar-operated holiday train and ride it to their destinations in Bridgeport Village. The Bridgeport Express is a 40-foot-long trackless passenger train with four-foot wide cars to accommodate children and adults. Rides are free and available for riders of all ages.

11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 3 – 5 p.m.


Photos with Santa

Children are invited to visit Santa in his home built by the Home Builders Association Professional Remodelers Organization in center court. In addition to posing for holiday photos, Santa will give away candy canes. For more information on photo packages and pricing, visit Bridgeport-Village.com

Breakfast with Santa


Kids and families are invited to join Santa for one of two breakfasts in support of local non-profit organizations. Tickets for Breakfast with Santa will be $10 per person and include delicious food, entertainment with Radio Disney, a visit with Santa and lots of fun. All ticket sales will benefit a charity of the hosting restaurant’s choice. Seating is limited. Visit Bridgeport-Village.com to purchase tickets beginning November 1, 2013.

Festival of Music

Bridgeport Village will host localyouth choirs and bands throughout the month of December. The performances will take place under the gazebo and feature choirs from surrounding school districts and community groups. Interested groups can contact Mallorie Goody  at 503-968-8940 for more information.  Shoppers can check the Bridgeport Village Facebook page for a nightly performance schedule.

Santa “Paws” Pet Photo Event

Pets will be invited to have their photos taken with Santa in center court.

Bridgeport Hosts 25 Days of Joy

Bridgeport will once again host unique events on each of the 25 days “of joy’ leading up to Christmas.  Many unique activities are planned.  Customers can check the Bridgeport Village Facebook page for the latest on daily happenings. Additionally, calendars will be available online and at the Guest Services kiosk.
