The 2014 Ram 1500 Continues to Win Top Honours

The Truck of Texas Rodeo is an event that’s held every year by the Texas Auto Writers Association. The challenges tested the off-road and on-road capability of each competing light-duty truck, as well as their ability to pull trailers under certain conditions. At the end of the day, the 2014 Ram 1500 was named the Truck of Texas for the second year in a row.

The 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel was also given the award for Best Full-Size Truck of Texas, Luxury Truck of Texas, and Best Powertrain.

Taking a little bit of the limelight off of the 2014 Ram 1500, the 2013 Ram 3500 dominated the competition during the 2013 King of Beasts event. Editors from PickupTrucks.com compared the Ram 3500 to the Ford F-450 in an apples-to-apples showdown. This evaluation featured 2,500 km of driving while towing heavy loads, along with a series of grueling acceleration, braking, and fuel economy tests. The 2013 Ram 3500 earned this victory by being able to tow 1,814 kg more than the competition while also receiving praise for its braking performance, fuel economy while towing, and best top speeds while climbing steep grades.
