The images in this book come primarily from the archives of the historical society which has been collecting donated photographs and printed materials. The text is from interviews conducted by Tim Danisi and from additional research. Fifty-five years ago there was no Rohnert Park, only a vision in Paul Golis’s mind. In 1962 just five years after construction of the first homes on land between Cotati and Santa Rosa, the community of Rohnert Park was incorporated. With a population of 40,000 today, the city has matured into more than simply a bedroom community. The planned neighborhoods Paul Golis and Maurice Fredericks designed for the first two sections, known as A and B, each included a school, pool, and park. These designs inspired many future city planners. Join us for a Book Signing! When: Friday, October 25th, 2013 from 4 to 7 pm.
