“…an insightful narration into the world of female friendships…relevant and poignant.

~ Amazon Reader Reviews

From group events to one-on-one discussions, from social networks to personal emails, Nicole Zangara has virtually left no stone unturned when it comes to offering sound advice in a technologically driven world.

Ms. Zangara’s wide-ranging case studies illustrate that women, caught in a detrimental relationship, frequently become isolated and distant—thinking instead that somehow their particular situation, or set of circumstances, is unusual.

Surviving Female Friendships: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly delivers hope, encouragement, and associated skills to modify, or de-bug, any struggling female friendship. But more than anything else, Ms. Zangara’s goal is to bring validation to thousands of women suffering under the yoke of an unhealthy relationship.

GRRL FEST (https://www.facebook.com/events/681171291912008/#!/events...) is a festival that incorporates music, food, art, dance and the spoken word to prevent violence against women and children through education and art.
·         Every 36 minutes a police officer responds to a domestic violence incident where a child is present.
·         Every 30 minutes a family is turned away from shelter due to lack of space.
·         Every 19 minutes a domestic violence arrest is made.
·         Every 5 days a domestic violence death occurs.

In light of these startling statistics, the stated goal of GRRL FEST is to change peer culture in order to prevent increasing violence against women and girls through education, entertainment, and a positive representation of women.

Nicole Zangara has a Bachelor of Arts from American University in Washington, DC, and a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. A licensed clinical social worker, she provides psychotherapy to people of all ages and backgrounds. Born and raised in Massachusetts, she now calls Arizona home after moving to be closer to family. When she is not working or writing, she enjoys spending time traveling, hiking, and enjoying family and friends.
