         The concept for Story Leather came when founder Jerry Lee went to purchase a leather case for his cell phone in 2010.  All the cases from the retail stores he found were low quality and all the designer brands were astronomically priced.

         “There were cases you could customize online but they were mostly plastic or when I looked into them they were made with synthetic leather,” said Lee.

         Jerry wanted the real thing.

         “We pay so much for these devices I wanted a material that would protect them and last.”

         Realizing that he probably wasn’t the only one looking for well-crafted leather cases, Jerry searched endlessly for a product that offered what he was looking for but found nothing.

         “I’m interested in self-expression, we all carry these devices that are exactly the same, I love the idea of taking something so uniform and making it personal,” said Lee.

         “This business would be a lot easier if we didn’t offer so much customization, things would be simpler, but the goal is individuality, we put the customer’s ability to choose at the center of what we do.”
