CHANDLER, Ariz. - Oct. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- CHANDLER (AZ)—Brighton Publishing LLC proudly announces the eBook release of Robert A. Lytle’s latest novel, “Bulwick School: A Yankee Lad in London.” Life’s challenges are only just beginning for the young Yankee-born teenager, Michael Hanlon, as he goes toe-to-toe with notorious characters and their stories of his family’s own troubled past. Bulwick School: A Yankee Lad in London is currently available in all popular eBook formats from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other fine retailers with the print release scheduled for early-2014, to be distributed by Ingram, the world’s largest book wholesaler, and on demand from the Espresso Book Machine.

At fourteen, Michael Hanlon was about to experience his worst fears come true—the death of both of his parents in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

Now orphaned, Michael is soon faced with a fateful decision—suffer the grim prospect of a life in New York’s over-burdenedfoster care system, or move to the rundown suburbs of London and live with his Irish-born uncle, Sean.

From the barstools of Casey’s pub in London’s east side, Michael is rapidly indoctrinated into a world of shady and dangerous characters. Soon, he uncovers the truth of his father’s own heroic actions as a member of therebel organization known as the IRA.

Night after night, Michael is immersed in the methods and beliefs of the Irish Republican Army and the roots of the centuries-old conflict between England’s Protestant ruling class and his Irish Catholic family’s own beleaguered past.

Now enrolled in England’s prestigious Bulwick School for boys, Michael quickly becomes acquainted with another boy named Walter Tootlington. Eventually, Michael discovers that Tootles’ father is none other than the Chairman of Parliament’s House of Lords Anti-terrorism Committee—sworn enemies to the IRA cause.

As events begin to unfold, Michael becomes the unwitting victim of fellow IRA member Pearce Devlin, and his duplicitous scheme to rob Michael of his education money and frame the boy as a member of the IRA. Now, only one question remains for Michael to answer…will he follow in his father’s rebel footsteps?

“In a story of heritage and familial bonds, author Robert A. Lytle displays his fascinating gift for storytelling and his unique understanding of Irish and British cultural and political differences,” said Kathie McGuire, Director of Brighton Publishing LLC. “Similar to the notable work of Leon Uris in his bestselling novel Trinity, Bulwick School: A Yankee Lad in London (http://www.amazon.com/Bulwick-School-Yankee-London-ebook/...) captures the indomitable spirit of an oppressed people, and unveils the core of family bonds—loyalty and devotion.”

Born in 1944, Mr. Lytle would grow up with three older sisters in Saginaw, Michigan. Later, he would go on to study abroad at Queen’s University in Belfast in Northern Ireland, and then return to Michigan where he would author a number of short stories and novels—everything from action-adventure to time travel. In 2002, his story “A Pitch in Time” would garner him runner-up for the prestigious Ben Franklin Award.
