Albuquerque Business Law Names James T. Burns as New Managing Partner

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Sept. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Albuquerque Business Law (ABL) announced today that attorney James T. Burns has assumed the position of managing partner of the firm. Burns, who earned both an MBA and a J.D. from UNM, owned and managed businesses prior to his successful practice with ABL. He brings the appreciation drawn from personal experience for the concerns and objectives of businesses and business owners. Under his leadership, the firm plans to expand both geographically and in its complementary practice areas. Outgoing managing partner, Patrick J. Griebel has stepped down to return to a position in the solar energy industry.

“James brings innovation and technical savvy to the table,” said Griebel. “With that and his background in business management, this move can only improve the firm’s quality and efficiency.”

Griebel remains of counsel to the firm and continues to be a driver of renewable energy law and policy.

Continued Growth

As a part of the firm’s growth strategy, Burns has announced the appointment of John Jennings, CPA, as the finance director. In this role, Jennings will be implementing new billing software and practices. In addition, John Lieuwen, LLM, a tax law specialist, is now of counsel to the firm to add another level of depth to the firm’s business expertise.

Griebel and Jeremy J. Theoret, who specializes in commercial litigation and open government law, will be honored for their work on winning the rights of the public to know the truth about Billy the Kid’s death at the NM Foundation for Open Government’s annual Dixon Freedom Awards ceremony on October 2.
