KMB Help with Shipping of Green Peas from Kenya

BIRMINGHAM, U.K. - Sept. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- KMB Shipping are very happy to announce that they have been able to set up and arrange with their partners in Kenya a shipping procedure to move 20’ GP FCL containers of whole green peas from Mombasa port in Kenya to various worldwide destinations for an esteemed UK client.

At the start of 2013 Kevin was given the task by a client of speaking to their partners and looking into the prospect of arranging the logistics for shipments of peas from Kenya including the handling of shipment terms / Customs verification / stamping all export documentation (Phytosanitary certificates and certificates of origin etc…) and finally the freight. After many weeks of cross referencing with their partners in Africa, KMB Shipping (http://www.kmbshipping.co.uk/index.php?webpage=rest_of_the_world) were very pleased to be able to find a solution that fit the criteria and the business plan going forward.

The first shipment of peas left Mombasa, Kenya in April destined for the Philippines, since then they have shipped to a number of worldwide countries that include Yemen, Vietnam, to name a few.

Due to the prospective growth of the business and also to ensure that the logistical chain KMB set up was working correctly Kevin flew out to Kenya along with their client the first week of July 2013.

It turned out to be an extremely prosperous visit and the aim of the meetings were achieved, Kevin had site visits with their partners in Kenya at the clients loading depot of the containers in Mombasa before export. He also made a visit to Mombasa port itself, and  to Mombasa Container Terminal which is a CFS operating outside of Mombasa port set up for the over spill of containers when the port is congested. It also has a container x-ray facility for any containers Kenya port authorities want to look into. Kevin was also able to see the fumigators and their laboratory to see how they arrange fumigation and the processes for food products that are being exported from Kenya and the rules and regulations.
