FORT MYERS, Fla. - Sept. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Holiday House opens December 13th in downtown Fort Myers at the corner of First Street and Fowler.  Hundreds of members and volunteers of the Fort Myers Woman’s Community Club spend hours embellishing the interior and exteriors of the Burroughs and Langford-Kingston homes, lawns and grounds with holiday decor.  “We consider Holiday House to be our gift to the community each year and we are looking forward to decorating,” said Fort Myers Woman’s Community Club Holiday House Chair, Debi Fussell.

The theme this year is “A Christmas to Remember”. Each room in the historic Burroughs and Langford-Kingston homes, in downtown Fort Myers, will be decorated with Christmas memories, in vivid red, green, gold and silver. Anyone interested in joining Fort Myers Woman’s Community Club and being a part of Holiday House are welcome!

The Burroughs Home and Gardens is located on 2.45 acres in downtown Fort Myers and is bounded on the north by the Caloosahatchee River and on the south by First Street. The home boasts turn-of-the-century Georgian Revival architecture and has not been altered considerably since construction was completed in 1901. The Langford-Kingston Home is a 5,000 square foot Prairie School residence and one of Downtown Fort Myers most outstanding houses.

Holiday House 2013 will run from December 13th until the 23rd. “Holiday House has something for everyone,” said Fussell. “In addition to walking though these two festively decorated homes and grounds, children can visit Santa each evening at the Langford-Kingston home.”

The hours for Holiday House will be nightly from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, and children 10 and under are free, as are veterans and active military with ID. Parking is also free and offered at First United Methodist Church on Fowler Street.
