Follow on Google News | 'Asperger's is my greatest gift, it's never a curse!'20-year-old Adam Bradford speaks openly about how his Asperger Syndrome has affected his career on launching a new project to support other Autistic young people
By: GBX COMMUNICATIONS Travelling an hour to and from school each day to a school near his father's workplace was a challenging experience but one Adam says paid dividends. "It was a completely new environment, something people with Autism aren't meant to be able to accept. But I did, and look at what that brought me - 27 A*-C GCSEs." Since then Adam has run his own business after studying at the Peter Jones Academy back in Sheffield, cannily picking up mentorship from Levi Roots of Dragon's Den fame, then becoming a National Ambassador for Peter Jones - the TV Dragon. In the years since, Adam's career has evolved to supporting the next generation and travelling around the work speaking about his journey. Whilst running a challenge injecting his own cash into youthful entrepreneurial ideas, Adam works at charity Live UnLtd providing access to cash awards and support for social enterprises. Today, Adam has launched a campaign to support other young people affected by conditions on the Autistic Spectrum. Over the next three months Adam will visit Leeds, Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Belfast to directly support around 30 young people with the condition to develop their careers and provide inspiration for their futures. Adam commented: 'People think Autism is a condition which holds people back, but I've been supported and encouraged by the right people now and that makes a magical difference. It's time I made that difference for many others and I'm honoured to be able to do so this year.' More information can be found through Adam's website at www.entrepreneuradam.tv. End
