Award-Winning Actor, Mark Gantt, Secures Lead Role in Antoni Solé’s New Psychological Thriller

LOS ANGELES - Aug. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Award-­winning writer, director and actor, Mark Gantt (The Bannen Way, Hidden in the Woods, The Night Visitor, Dexter, Ocean’s Eleven), has been selected for the lead role in Barcelona-­‐based director, Antoni Solé’s psychological thriller, “The Second Region of Night.” The feature film is based on a script written by Solé (You Are A Terrorist, Alpha), and follows Johan Meyers (Mark Gantt) as he translates a five thousand year old text only to discover an evil curse he’s brought to life. The film is produced by Loris Curci (Zone of the Dead, 11:11:11), and will begin shooting principal photography in Barcelona on September 5th 2013.

Acclaimed actors Timothy Gibbs (11:11:11, Max Payne), Reg Wilson (Perfume, The Machinist), and Nikol Kollars (You Are a Terrorist, Hidden Camera) have also joined the cast lead by Mark Gantt (The Bannen Way, Hidden in the Woods, The Night Visitor, Dexter, Ocean’s Eleven).

Synopsis: Johan Meyer is in a league of his own, when it comes down to Oriental mythology. An eminent Los Angeles based, anthropologist and lecturer, the professor is highly regarded for his translations of Egyptian pre-­Khufu tables. He is therefore not surprised when approached to evaluate an ancient text whilst giving a conference at an Eastern European university.

What is indeed peculiar is the big rush his mysterious client is in, but then the offer comes with a big check, and the five thousand year old text is remarkable in its uniqueness.

With a mere twelve days to translate the ancient parchment, he sets off to work day and night. And that is when strange and inexplicable happenings take form.

His dreams are drenched in unexplainable visions, and events take an unexpected turn when an FBI agent shows up to enquire about a former job of his, something Johan had almost forgotten.

A strange coincidence, or least so it seems until the translation is almost at end, and that is when Johan realizes that the parchment contains a ritual that might just as well revolutionize the concept of after-­‐life as we know it.

Mark Gantt is the co-­‐creator and star of the multiple award-­‐winning digital series/feature film, "The Bannen Way" on Sony's Crackle which was just renewed for a 2nd season. He's currently working on five projects in pre-­‐post and filming including the sci-­‐fi/horror film from BlancBiehn Productions called "The Night Visitor" and is in preproduction on the sequel, "The Night Visitor 2," directed by Brianne Davis, in which he produces and stars opposite Jennifer Blanc.
