iWave’s New Cyclone V SoC Based SOM Overview

BANGALORE, India - Aug. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- iWave Systems announced world’s first Altera's Cyclone V SX SoC FPGA based Qseven compatible module for the increased system performance requirements. The Dual ARM Cortex A9 core with the FPGA allows greater flexibility for the system designers and helps to lower the system cost and power consumption. The improved logic integration with integrated high speed transceivers and hard memory controllers provides increased bandwidth capacity which is ideal for cost-sensitive high end applications.

 

This module is iWave's first in the FPGA domain and latest addition to its growing family of multimedia focused products offering high performance processing with a high degree of functional integration, aimed at the growing Automotive Infotainment, Telemedicine, HMI & Display based cluster markets.

The key features of this module are Cyclone V SX SoC FPGA with integrated 800-MHz, dual-core ARM® Cortex™-A9 MPCore™ processor, on board 512MB DDR3 with ECC for HPS, 512MB DDR3 for FPGA, DIP Switch for boot settings, Q SPI Flash. The module supports Qseven form factor of size 70mm x 70mm with Qseven PCB edge connector for IO expansion to support Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0 Host, LVDS LCD, AC97/I2S Audio, SATA, PCIe Gen2, CAN, SD/MMC, I2C, SPI, Debug UART, PWM, WDOG, Temperature sensor, RTC controller and various IO interfaces.
