NEW JERSEY, N.J. - Aug. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- This past June, The American Medical Association officially recognized obesity as a disease.

An exciting, new Christian ministry is helping people end their lifelong struggle with food and weight once and for all. Through an interactive study guide, speaking opportunities, on-site demonstration cooking classes, and community outreach, God’s Kitchen Ministries empowers individuals to deepen their faith while finding pleasure and comfort in healthy, nourishing foods.

“Today’s convenience foods are being corporate-engineered to make us addicted and wanting more.” says Toni Perry, founder of God’s Kitchen Ministries. “Society encourages us to jump on the diet bandwagon to try and fix this problem, but diets don’t work – plain and simple. Ours is a very unique Christian ministry that gets to the heart of the matter through an in-depth study of Scripture as it relates to food, our eating habits, and our relationships with Almighty God and others.”

Perry is an award-winning Bible study teacher, author, food educator, and inspirational speaker who discovered revelations about food during her own battle of the bulge, bout with cancer and exploration of the Bible’s teachings. Her new book, Breaking the Yolk Yoke: The Biblical Beginning . . .  and End To Our Struggle With Food, offers Christ-centered guidelines for physical and spiritual sustenance. Each interactive lesson in the workbook features a food-focused Bible study segment, daily devotional, and theme-related recipe.

A certified program instructor for the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF), Perry also offers speaking engagements during which she reveals “bites of wisdom” on making peace with food. Each lively, 90-minute presentation features a short Bible study session followed by an on-site cooking demonstration. Attendees are able to enjoy fresh Biblical insight as well as the opportunity to sample a simple, Scripture-inspired recipe.

In addition to the book and on-site presentations, God's Kitchen sponsors a faith-based Comfort Food Outreach, which is a ministry of Grace Church in Netcong, New Jersey. This program serves individuals and families in Morris County, NJ by providing meals to those in need.

Says Perry, “The mission of God’s Kitchen is to help people stop the ‘mindless munching’ that is weighing down their bodies, minds, and spirits. Once we understand the truth about food and learn the secrets to eating as God intended, our slavery to food ends. Then we are free to enjoy His wonderful provisions without guilt and without shame.”
