The Valiant Defender’s Party Endorses David Watts for Texas Land Commissioner

AUSTIN, Texas - July 27, 2013 - PRLog -- The Valiant Defender’s Party endorses David Watts for Texas Land Commissioner. He runs on the platform of truly conservative principles. His campaign headlines "Bold Leadership for Tomorrow’s Texas". Watts is affiliated with the Republican Party, and is planning to run against the more popular George P. Bush, son of Jeb Bush in the primaries. He believes that family dynasties in politics strangles the system by establishing favors and alliances.

His plan for stewardship of Texas land assets is to generate revenue for “education, Texas veterans' benefits, and Texas history and archives”. His priorities include reducing federal agencies. According to Watts, as federal agencies are expanding their scope and exerting more control on the people, they reduce the ability of the people to influence the agencies. This is in accordance to his belief in a small but efficient government. He also aims to continue leasing of land for "solar power generation, wind power generation, or other productive alternatives". This is in line with the Valiant Defender's Party's principles, which upholds technological innovation as one of its tenets.

As Texas Land Commissioner, he is also responsible for the history of the state. He supports the digitization of historical records and artifacts and the subsequent public availability of those resources. The Valiant Defender's Party believes in the storage and free flow of information, and is behind him in this regard. The Land Commissioner is also responsible for the use of Texas land for "recreation, exploration, and other outdoor activities", and Watts desires that the lands will be accessible for public use.

Watts will also work to keep Texas a stable environment for businesses. Mining and oil drilling will need the services of the Land Commissioner in finding land. He understands that the governor signs laws and the legislature passes them, but if Watts is elected, he will use his influence to keep the regulatory environment stable so that businesses will not be forced to move to other states.

Veterans' affairs are also part of the Land Commissioner's set of responsibilities. Watts believes that veterans must have continued assistance in finding jobs, assistance in education, long-term health care, and dignity of a final resting place. He is in favor of streamlining and simplifying the many veterans' programs.

A father of homeschooled children, he reflects the Valiant Defender's Party's stance on alternative education over public education. His track record of twenty-two years as a business professional encouraging companies to reinvent, experience he will use if elected to the position.

And he is not inexperienced in political matters. David Watts has run for State Representative in Kentucky, supporting an end of exemptions for rich racehorse owners and also a repeal of newly increased state taxes. He was also a delegate in the Jefferson County Republican Convention.
