The idea for Housefax came to Lang more than a decade ago when he saw how the late Ed McMahon and his wife were sickened by toxic mold in their Beverly Hills home – which killed their dog. After their multimillion-dollar settlement, insurance companies began excluding water damage and mold from coverage. “I wanted to create something to protect my customers from going through the process of making an offer on a house, getting a loan, and only later finding out that they couldn’t get insurance. Researching all the potential pitfalls on your own will cost time and money. Housefax is instant and affordable.”

“The timing is right for Housefax,” said Housefax President, technology entrepreneur and investor Michael Abdy. Last year Abdy wanted to make an offer on a Florida home with his father, whose real estate career spans 40 years. “I thought the house looked fine, but my dad’s sixth sense said, ‘this place has problems.’ He was right, and it showed me the need for a tool like Housefax. When I found that Eddy had the same idea, we joined forces.”
