Follow on Google News | The Taming of the Screw - Newly Patented Screw/Screwdriver Could Up-end IndustryThe newly patented JacLock Screw and JacLock Screwdriver System could up-end industry. Builder/Inventor Bernard Jacovitz of Earthquake Resistant Building Construction, Inc. just received another industry disruptive patent.
The new design will appeal to both manufacturers and consumers alike. Manufacturers will quickly see the advantages of using the new system, since the assembly of products with the new screw/ screwdriver locking system will improve efficiency and costs. Consumers will also find the new system a tremendous improvement over existing screw and screwdrivers. In addition to the easier physical process, they will no longer be faced with the possibility of stripping a screw head while inserting or removing a screw. Unlike a prior patented design by Jacovitz in the early 1980’s, the new JacLock™ Screw and Screwdriver locking system does not result in any increase in the cost of the production of the screw. The new patent requires only one die cut during the production process of the screw rather than two die cuts required by his earlier patent. According to Mr. Jacovitz, “My new JacLock™ Screw and JacLock™ Screwdriver System will change the use of screws and screwdrivers by manufacturers and consumers throughout the world. No longer will you have to worry about slipping off of a screw while inserting or removing it. Everyone who has ever used a screw and screwdriver, whether it was manual or electric, has faced the problem of slippage at some point.
