Information Security Forum Announces Webinar on Implementation of Cyber Resilience Strategies

By: Information Security Forum

June 25, 2013 - PRLog -- According to the Information Security Forum (http://www.securityforum.org) (ISF), a global, independent information security body considered the world's leading authority on cyber security and information risk management, developing a cyber resilience strategy is the only way for organizations to survive today’s rapidly changing threat landscape. Business leaders recognize that cyberspace increases innovation, collaboration, productivity, competitiveness and engagement with customers. Unfortunately, they are having difficulty determining the risk versus reward aspects, the potential common root causes for cyber security breaches and how to build effective defense strategies.

Cyberspace is continuously evolving and presenting new opportunities, as the desire of businesses to quickly adopt new technologies provides enormous opportunity. But, this also brings unforeseen risks and unintended consequences that can have a potentially negative impact on an organization.

Traditional risk management is insufficiently agile to deal with the potential impacts from activity in cyberspace and must be extended to organizational risk and cyber resilience in order to manage, respond and mitigate any negative impacts of cyberspace activity.

During this webinar, Steve Durbin, Global Vice President of the ISF, will discuss the ever-changing cyber security threat landscape and the need for a prepared and comprehensive rapid-response capability, as organizations will be subjected to cyber attacks regardless of best efforts to protect themselves. He will also share insights into how many of ISF's global Members have successfully implemented defense strategies to create a cyber resilience vision that is aligned to their business strategy.
