RICHMOND, Va. - May 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Richmond Training Concepts, a local leader in emergency care and response training for communities and individuals, has published an infographic on Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) and the only way to save a victim’s life — prompt CPR and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).    In celebration of National CPR and AED Awareness Week (June 1-7, 2013), the infographic was created by Health & Safety Institute (HSI) and illustrates the difference between SCA and a heart attack (SCA is always fatal without prompt intervention). It also explains that an SCA victim can only survive without CPR and defibrillation for about ten minutes. Nationwide “call to shock” times vary, but in even the optimum situation, emergency medical technicians are unlikely to be on-site within ten minutes.    According to John DeMott, Training Center co-owner, the key to an SCA victim’s survival is a witness or responder with CPR and AED training. “SCA strikes about 360,000 people annually and less than ten percent of SCA victims survive,” he said. “We offer ASHI CPR and AED training so people know how to respond when SCA strikes, because a prompt, skilled response is the only way to save an SCA victim’s life.”    For more information on CPR and AED courses, or to schedule an interview, contact Allisha Cutshall, Training Coordinator, Richmond Training Concepts, at 804-592-1782 or email at contact@richmondtrainingconcepts.com.    Click HERE to download the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Infographic (5.7MB PDF file)    About Richmond Training Concepts    Founded in 2010, Richmond Training Concepts offers emergency response and first aid training to local and regional organizations and individuals.  For more information on CPR and AED classes, or Richmond Training Concepts’ other classes and services, visit www.richmondtrainingconcepts.com.
