SOMERSET, N.J. - May 22, 2013 - PRLog -- The ASAP app places critical threat detection and violence prevention information where it is most easily accessible by the user on their mobile device.  The current app supports U.S. Department of Homeland Security and other recognized agencies’ most current recommendation for violence prevention and active shooter response, and can also be customized for any company, organization or campus to reflect its unique proprietary procedures, plans, information, resources, and notification protocols.

“This is a must-have for every facility, employer, employee, customer, parent, student, teacher, administrator, and citizen,” says Bill MacRae, partner at TriMedia, “We can no longer continue to believe that it can’t happen here.”

The app presentation is very straightforward: the Recognize tab reviews types of violent behavior, pre-incident indicators, and situational awareness; the Respond tab focuses on key activities such as de-escalation, evacuation, and surviving the rescue, and; the Recover tab addresses common post-event reactions, what helps, and steps to help others.  Additional features includes direct dial 911 function, social media  integration, news feeds, polling, newsletter, videos, MP3’s and more.

“No organization, venue or individual is immune from a potential act of violence,” notes Steven M. Crimando, ASAP’s lead subject matter expert.   Crimando adds, “Knowing how to recognize, respond and survive a potential act of violence comes down to each one of us as individuals. We cannot be passive observers to our own safety and survival.”

Crimando is an internationally known educator in violence prevention and crisis management.  He is Diplomat of the National Center for Crisis Management; the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, the International College for the Behavioral Sciences, a Certified Trauma Specialists, a Certified Police Instructor, holds Level 5 Certification in Homeland Security (CHS-V), and is also a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals.
