HIGHLAND, Ind. - May 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Bosak Honda in Highland is proud to announce that the 2013 Honda Civic Sedan has been awarded a top safety scores from both the IIHS and NHTSA. The breakdown includes four stars for frontal crashes, five stars for side impacts, and four stars for rollover protection, delivering an overall score of five stars.

In addition to receiving a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA, the 2013 Honda Civic sedan was also named as a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS. The Sedan joins the Coupe, which received a four-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA, as the first and only small compact cars to earn the Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS. In order to receive the highest possible rating from the IIHS, the Civic had to earn a “Good” rating on the new standard small overlap frontal crash test.

Honda’s next generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure is a major reason why the Civic has earned these high safety ratings, with the ACE structure helping to enhance frontal crash energy. Other standard safety features include Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control, driver and front passenger airbags, and side curtain airbags.

Art St. Cyr, Vice President of Product Planning and Logistics at American Honda, said that not only is being a leader in safety part of their business strategy, but it’s also part of their company philosophy. Each of Honda’s 2013 vehicles has received either a Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ distinction from the IIHS, leading all other automakers.

The 2013 Civic Sedan ranges in price from $18,995 for the LX model with manual transmission, to $28,775 for the Natural Gas with Navigation model. The Coupe begins at $18,755 and rises to just over $25,000 for an Si model with navigation.
