Two area nurses recognized as top nurses at GHS hospitals

GEORGETOWN, S.C. - May 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Georgetown, S.C. — Two local area nurses have been honored by Georgetown Hospital System as Nurse of the Year, the top nursing honor that GHS awards.
Beth Marion, BSN, RN of Murrells Inlet was named Nurse of the Year at Waccamaw Community Hospital, and Kerri Evans, BSN, BS, RN, of Andrews was named Nurse of the Year at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Marion, an OB Services nurse, joined WCH in 2007 after earning her degree from Charleston Southern University.
Evans earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of South Carolina and her BSN from the Medical University of South Carolina. She works in the flex dept. at GMH. Evans recently was recognized as a Palmetto Gold recipient by the S.C. Nurses Association.
The Nurse of the Year award is given annually during National Nurses Week to the nurse from each hospital who exemplifies the highest ideals of the profession.
