Follow on Google News | Volunteers from Local Businesses Pack 20,000 Meals at Stop Hunger Now EventBy: S&A Cherokee About 150 volunteers wore plastic gloves and hair nets while dancing to music and working together to assemble 20,000 meals over a three-hour span. A gong rang after every 1,000 meals were packaged, which led to loud cheering, keeping everyone eager and energized. “We are so thankful to work hand in hand with RPG Solutions, Citrix, Lonerider Brewery and BioResource International to co-sponsor this humanitarian event,” said Chuck Norman, owner/principal, S&A Cherokee. “We often take things like three meals a day for granted here in the United States, so being involved in events like this is important and crucial for making a change in our world.” Stop Hunger Now is a nonprofit organization that has packaged more than 97 million meals delivered to 76 countries. These meals include 21 essential vitamins and nutrients, protein and rice.
