Niagara Essential Oils & Blends (NEOB) Announces 2013 Festivals

NIAGARA ON THE LAKE, Ontario - May 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Niagara Essential Oils & Blends (NEOB) is getting ready for the most exciting year for festivals yet!  The events will host new and returning vendors of food & culinary, produce, arts & crafts.  A lineup of seminars, demonstrations, and lavender treats will attract visitors of all ages.  Similar to previous years, the outdoor festivals will be held on the grounds of NEOB boutique in picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON.

The 3rd Annual Niagara Taste of Lavender Festival kicks-off the events season on July 13th and 14th, 2013.  The event has become a Niagara tradition known to leave guests with a delightful sensory experience of taste, smell and sight.  Thousands of visitors will be treated to day-long activities that include demos on cooking and candy making using lavender and other essential oils, distillation of lavender in the glass distiller; and workshops on growing lavender.  Lavender culinary delights are also available during the event including the newly-concocted lavender beer.

This year, NEOB also launches the first Food Fight for Foodies Festival on August 17, 2013.   The highlight of the event is a cooking competition where 5 aspiring chefs vie for first place.  Contestants prepare their dishes in an interactive environment inside a mobile culinary theater.  The chefs are required to use culinary essential oils and herbs as key ingredients for their dishes.  The winning dish will be featured in three publications across Ontario.  

The 2nd Annual Niagara Garlic Festival will be held on September 14, 2013.  The event is rapidly becoming known in the Niagara region and beyond for celebrating this piquant bulb and the local growers.  The 2013 program is shaping up to be the most “spicy” yet with events such as cooking demos, garlic braiding and workshops on growing garlic.  

Attendees to all the NEOB festivals will also get the opportunity to participate in the “Purple Flower Program”.  NEOB will be giving away a total of 10,000 lavender plants during the events.  Participants are asked to bring the flowers back, whenever possible, so NEOB can distill them into oils for their Purple Flower brand.  Profits from the sale of this product line will be donated to a selected charity.
