Follow on Google News | Walmart Salutes Military Families By Offering VANILLA FIRE Military Film on Memorial DayExactly one year after the 2012 Memorial Day Premiere at the Director's Guild of America (DGA) for Until They Are Home (Oscar shortlist for the 85th Academy Awards) Walmart is making this military film available to families all across the country.

The Carrier is narrated by legendary actor John Savage and stars President Obama, Magic Johnson, Pamela Anderson, Brooklyn Decker, Roselyn Sanchez (Act of Valor) Premiering Veterans Day Nov 11, 2013. This nationwide distribution, following last year's wildly successful premiere at the Directors Guild of America, where 1000 people attended along with members of the military including JPAC and local Veterans. Filmmaker Barber was highlighted on CNN and GMA along with country music legend and Grammy winner Clint Black with Oscar shortlisted theme song to the film, "She Won't Let Go." Mr. Cooper is the last WWII Veteran in the fight trying to bring home more of the 88,000 MIAs from WWII. Pierce Brosnan is attached to narrate and Barber is talking to Lyle Lovett and Jackson Brown about scoring some original music for the soundtrack. Jamie Dunlap whose original score from Until They Are Home was also Oscar shortlisted will also be in the mix. Mr. Dunlap is a highly sought after and recognized composer and quite well known for his musical scores of the popular animated show South Park. Vanilla Fire productions is a noble film making company telling the American narrative at the highest order. Serving the military, passing the torch and continuing the legacy. The film Until They Are Home features actual footage from the 1940's of the very first military combat photographers to ever film during battle. Norm Hatch shows what it was like to run and gun in the Pacific as one of the first ever motion picture combat photographers. Until They Are Home is about relieving the grief of the families of Marines whose bodies were never given proper burial. JPAC teams work to repatriate soldiers so their families can finally rest in closure. Until They Are Home contains WWII film footage that corresponds to the famous photo of the war kitten - the photo of the Marine who bent down during war to give a drink of water to a lost kitten amid the bloody battlefields. And he was up for an Honorary Oscar in 2012 - the Oscar that Oprah Winfrey won. Now Norm Hatch's footage is featured in Until They Are Home as the men who lay in that old battlefield are finally repatriated and children and grandchildren find closure. Norm Hatch lives in Alexandria, Virginia, the same city where Until They Are Home Producer Tamara Henry was born in 1971 while her father William W. Henry was serving our country for 20 years... in Intelligence at the Pentagon and he received a Bronze Star. Movie makers and film fanatics watch this old black and white film reel of the first ever motion picture combat photographers like Norm Hatch who filmed war hero Eddie Albert before he went on to become a legendary actor. Back in 1997, before Steven C. Barber became a filmmaker, he met Eddie Albert on his mountain bike ride and eventually interviewed Eddie Albert in his home, filled with quartz crystals, and this narrative visit caught on home video opens the film. Since Eddie Albert's death in 2005, Barber has continued to work under Albert's inspiration. This is the second time Vanilla Fire has been in the Oscar race. Once in 2010 for Unbeaten and now in 2012 for Until They Are Home. Unbeaten was named Top 10 Olympic Film of all time by TIME magazine this year next to Steven Spielberg's Munich.
