Society for Historic American Homes is launched

OWINGS, Md. - April 25, 2013 - PRLog -- The Society for Historic American Homes, a membership organization which will provide a national voice of advocacy and inspiration for the ownership and sound stewardship of historic homes in America, is pleased to announce its formation. The Society will provide owners of homes pre-dating 1945 a community and educational resources to make informed decisions about restoration, preservation and renovation. The Society is accepting memberships in categories that
include home owners, public property owners (bed and breakfasts, inns and museum properties), and businesses that provide services to the historic home owner.

Owning a historic home is a life style choice and we hope Historic American Homes becomes an inspiration to owners and prospective owners across the country,” said Amy Lawson, President.

The Society will be providing an array of member benefits for each of the membership categories. Educational opportunities for owners and other interested audiences will include historic travel itineraries and feature member owned and operated inns and bed and breakfasts. By developing strong ties with local historical societies and museum properties, the Society seeks to provide an unmatched and vibrant community of preservationists, historians, home owners and vendors.

The Society for Historic American Homes was founded in direct response to the need for a national membership organization for home owners, to educate and advocate for the preservation of historic homes and to inspire ownership and sound stewardship of these endangered national treasures.
