After giving up her successful Faith Scapes landscaping business and moving to Montana with her husband and retired firefighter, Hawk, Susan’s sights are now set on a new life—one offering hope and a future.

Nestled among the plains of Western Montana’s picturesque landscape, Susan and Hawk become settled near Hawk’s brother, Dakota, and his wife Petah. Throughout the years, Dakota and Petah’s horse ranch had become home to dozens of troubled Blackfoot Indian boys. Now, Susan and Hawk are inspired to build a legacy of their own—a foster home for troubled girls.

It doesn’t take long before Salish Ranch is born and soon, Hawk and Susan adopt Abby. Not quite built for seeing-eye work, the beautiful Yellow Lab may yet become a fine addition to the local search-and-rescue team.

Paired with young Wichita Greentree, a local girl struggling to find her way through the foster care system, Abby quickly provides a stable and loyal friendship for the teen as the two come to share a common bond—search for meaning in their lives.

More than pets, the dogs ultimately affect attitudes and help the troubled teens cope with their present situations. Young Jaci begins her work with a blind German Shepherd named Tikki, attempting to develop her skills as a therapy dog, while Fawn, traumatized by child abuse, trains a Black Lab named Sophie for the search-and-rescue team.

When a local boy named Andy is lost in Montana’s rugged terrain, Wichita, Fawn, Abby, and Sophie are called upon to exercise their newly acquired training and ultimately, the team will be key to Andy’s survival.

“Combining their talents as gifted communicators, authors W.J. and Lee Walker deliver a sharp and detailed look into life’s obstacles and our innate ability to rise above them,” said Kathie McGuire, director of Brighton Publishing LLC. “Similar to Michael Blake’s award-winning novel Dances with Wolves, Almost Angels: Where Dreams Come True is both highly effecting and extraordinarily thought-provoking.”

W.J. Walker, a registered nurse, and Lee Walker, a retired engineer, have been married forty-one years, since just after graduating from high school. Successful in their respective fields and with their children grown, both are enjoying dedicating their time to writing and other passions. Most recently, the couple has collaborated on the emotionally riveting novel, Faith Scapes: A Story of Love, Growth, and Faith (http://www.amazon.com/Faith-Scapes-Story-Love-Growth/dp/1...), first published in 2012. W.J. Walker has also authored the highly-acclaimed novels, Memories: A Story of Rediscovery (http://www.amazon.com/Memories-Story-Rediscovery-W-J-Walk...) and A New Beginning (http://www.amazon.com/New-Beginning-W-J-Walker/dp/1621830...). Both novels were published by Brighton Publishing. The authors live in Michigan with their yellow lab, Lucy, and their tabby cat, Rusty.
