Front Porch Art Launches to Support Artists and Promote Southern Art

Front Porch Art is a laid-back art market helping artists share their passion with the world and making art accessible to everyone through an online gallery.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - April 16, 2013 - PRLog -- After creating a bio card for a local folk artist, Memphian Caitlin Horton realized how difficult it can be for artists to promote their work. Without marketing materials or an effective online presence, artists cannot easily connect with art enthusiasts who want to purchase their work. She and her husband, Kennedy, launched Front Porch Art to solve this problem for both artists and those who love their work.

Front Porch Art provides marketing support for artists by helping them tell the story behind their artwork. Artists gain an online presence through the Front Porch Art website, social media, blogging, and email marketing. Artists can also utilize printed marketing materials to drive online sales. In addition, their artwork is periodically shown and sold at events.

“Many times you see art you really like at a festival or something, but you can't find the artist later because you don't remember their name or they have no online presence. We're working to change all that,” says Caitlin Horton, co-founder and Creative Director of Front Porch Art.

For art enthusiasts, this new way of promoting art makes it easy to build a relationship with the artists they love. Buying art and discovering new artists is easy because their work is always available online 24/7.

“We call ourselves 'a laid-back art market' because you can get to know the artists while you shop for great art at home, in your pajamas if you want,” Horton says.

By joining forces with Front Porch Art, artists no longer endure the hassle of photographing, listing, and shipping their work. Unlike other methods of selling your work online, Front Porch Art does not charge listing fees or make the artist fulfill orders.

“Being an artist, my talent for marketing is slim to none. It is a thrill to have someone handle the tedious details of marketing, selling, dealing with customers, and shipping for me,” says mixed media folk artist Tara Browning.

Artists of any medium who are interested in being a part of Front Porch Art can apply to sell artwork through the Facebook page or website. To learn more or shop for Southern art, visit http://www.frontporchart.com.
