Long Island Hyundai Dealer, Millennium Hyundai, Comments on Hyundai’s Record First Quarter Sales

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - April 5, 2013 - PRLog -- On April 5, 2013, Millennium Hyundai commented on a Hyundai News article, regarding the news of Hyundai Motor America announcing that they have recorded their best ever first quarter sales.

According to the Hyundai News article (http://hyundainews.com/us/en-us/Media/PressRelease.aspx?mediaid=38515&title=hyundai-motor-america-sets-all-time-record-first-quarter-sales), “Hyundai Motor America today announced sales of 68,306 units, down just two percent versus the best volume month Hyundai ever recorded last year, and up more than 30 percent over February levels. The first quarter of 2013 was the best in Hyundai’s history.” The article states that one of the reasons for such a sales increase, is the fact that more dealers are participating in the Certified Pre-Owned program, which sold 6,715 vehicles in March.

Executive Vice President of national sales, Dave Zuchowski, gave the Elantra the credit for its record sales stating,  “We definitely benefitted from better inventories of Elantra thanks to the addition of the third shift at our Alabama plant, improved weather conditions in our important Northern markets and more robust retail activity reflecting a steady recovery in consumer confidence.” The article states that the Elantra led all other models in sales with 26,153 units sold, which is up 33% from last year. The article mentioned that the Sonata Hybrid broke its own sales record as well this past month.
