Community Theater Auditions March 23 and 24 at BIG ARTS

SANIBEL ISLAND, Fla. - March 19, 2013 - PRLog -- BIG ARTS launched a program for community theater and staged play readings of works by playwrights in southwest Florida. All readings will feature the Community Players and other local talent, volunteering onstage and backstage.

BIG ARTS Community Players are holding open auditions for the original play Old Money by Thomas C. Riti of Cape Coral. Auditions will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 at BIG ARTS Schein Hall, 900 Dunlop Road, Sanibel. The director is seeking two females age 60 or older, one male or female age 8-12, one male and one female age 25-35, and three males age 35-55. No monologues necessary. Sides available at auditions. The show will run for three weekends: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from May 16 to June 1. The comedy Old Money focuses on two fictional characters, Harriet Turtletub and Meredith Weatherbee. These seniors are an unlikely pair of counterfeiters, who use the manufactured money to support their favorite local charities. The local mob is out to put an end to this unexpected counterfeiting competition, which brings out comical situations right up to the unexpected final curtain.
