March 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Unite Me Now continues its commitment to making a difference through changing lives now teaming up with Arizona Stand Down for Homelessness for the largest community outreach event for homeless U.S. Veterans that the city of Phoenix has ever seen.

Unite Me Now is set to assist hundreds of homeless U.S. Veterans offering Free Phones to “Call A Loved One” or get connected to an employer this weekend at the 12th Annual Arizona Stand Down, a three-day event beginning Friday, March 8th through Sunday morning, March 10th at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix. The phone program was spearheaded by Ronald Reagan’s administration.

As many as 1,500 homeless and at-risk military veterans are expected during the 3-day event. The event will connect homeless U.S. Veterans to services to regain their independence, including the opportunity of free phones with 250 reoccurring minutes monthly on behalf of Unite Me Now, clothing, meals, emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing, and other vital resources.

On March 9, 2013 Unite Me Now will appear at two locations across the city of Phoenix to expand the outreach with key staff and volunteers in position to assist Veterans at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum as well as offering free phones to those who qualify at a major community outreach event running from 1pm to 5pm MST hosted by Whole Truth Church of God In Christ located at 4628 S. 7th Street in Phoenix.

On March 9th, Whole Truth Church will provide free haircuts for children under 12, free food, and, along with ongoing classes including Business Start Up Classes, Court Ordered Community Service, and Marriage Counseling and free phones for those who qualify on behalf of Unite Me Now supported by the volunteer efforts of Shawn Pearson and the Kingdom Communities of the Valley Volunteers.
